This means that Facebook is pausing all new apps created for the Messenger Platform and it also means that connecting new pages to existing apps like Surveybot is also being paused.
Today Ime Archibong, VP Platform Partnerships, announced some updates to the Facebook platform, which also impacts Messenger. These critical steps will give people more control of their data, and put stronger protections in place to prevent misuse. As it relates to Messenger, we are currently pausing app review, which means there will be no new bots/experiences added to the platform while we review our policies and make necessary adjustments. Existing Messenger experiences will continue to function as is.The full update can be read here >
There is no timeframe at this stage on how long the pause is for or what changes will become as a result of their policy review.
For Surveybot users this means that:
  • For existing Surveybot users it will be business as usual. You will be able to keep using Surveybot as you have been doing so.
  • For new users to Surveybot – you won’t be able to connect your own Facebook pages for Messenger until Facebook has completed their review. You will however be able to use the existing “Surveybot” Facebook page for your surveys.
Facebook is doing this review to ensure the best experience for all users. Surveybot has a strong partnership with Facebook so we will be keeping up to date on the events happening and inform you as soon as we know the results of the platform policy review.
